The cast and crew of the hit TV series Smallville are now in the midst of filming the series’ last season. After ten seasons, the series that delved into the Superman mythos will finally come to a close.
Reportedly a number of surprises are being prepared for this, the last season of Smallville. Most of these surprises are being kept under wraps but there’s one that’s already known to the public, and that’s the return of Lex Luthor. Actor Michael Rosenbaum who played Luthor in the series is coming back for this last season, which is just an apt finish for this series.

Certain rumors have pointed to two main characters in the successful young Superman TV show hitting the dirt – permanently. Sources have pointed to one veteran and one newbie slated to say bye-bye in this season’s finale. Both are said to be plot-essential characters, and their deaths will spur another chapter in the young Superman’s life.

Some have speculated on Martha Kent, who seems to be the most likely veteran candidate to pass away. After Pa Kent headed to the next world, that just leaves Lana, Clark, Ma Kent, Chloe and Lex as the likely candidates. Of course, we can cross out Clark and Lex, because really, it would be plain stupid to kill off the main protagonist and antagonist, wouldn’t it? Especially since Smallville itself is not hitting the dust anytime soon. Lana seems to have some juice left, and the last time they killed Chloe, everybody got angry.
